PLAYER RATINGS V PLYMOUTH

Sunderland's unbeaten Championship run came to an end thanks to an injury-time winner in a chaotic match. Here's how the Lads rated out of ten...

ANTHONY PATTERSON: 6/10

Even in this game where Plymouth were the better team for large parts of the game, Patto still didn't have too much too do for the majority. Unlucky to concede the equaliser after pulling off an exceptional save onto the crossbar, which just bounced off Ballard and rolled in. Had a few low saves to make later on to keep us in it...

TRAI HUME: 5/10

Tried to get forward as much as possible but struggled a bit defensively against Ibrahim Cissoko. Tended to drift inside and held a central position - I think he looks more dangerous when he's on the touchline and keeping his width.

DAN BALLARD: 5/10

Generally didn't have that bad a game, and a five may seem harsh. However, he came out on the wrong side of the key moments having scored an own goal and conceded a penalty after his miskick.

LUKE O'NIEN: 7/10

Good on the ball and helped push us up the field. Some good defending where he showed his experience and managed to get his body in the way.

DENNIS CIRKIN: 6/10

He was important in our opening four wins but today he couldn't impact the game much from left back. Dealt with the threat of Morgan Whittaker well but that meant he wasn't able to push forward and offer much support to Romaine Mundle.

DAN NEIL: 5/10

Struggled to control the tempo when we were overran in midfield, particularly in the second half. Needed to slow the game down but couldn't influence too much.

CHRIS RIGG: 7/10

Some great work in the first half to keep us ticking, linked up well with Roberts and showed good awareness to go to ground and win our penalty. Ran out of steam in the second half before coming off after we lost control of the game.

JOBE BELLINGHAM: 6/10

Pretty combative in midfield and tried to get us forward, although not much came off for Jobe today.

PATRICK ROBERTS: 8/10 Gets his first goal of the season from the spot and had a free kick tipped onto the crossbar. One of our main forces driving forward and as always his dribbling caused Argyle some problems.

ROMAINE MUNDLE: 8/10

Great ability to cut inside or go on the outside, and put a few dangerous balls into the box. Took a risk for our second goal which paid off, and on another day could have had a couple of assists too. Worked so hard throughout.

ELIEZER MAYENDA: 5/10

Plenty of energy and looked bright when he was on the ball, but just needs to improve his positioning. There were a couple of those Mundle crosses where if he'd gambled at the front post he could have scored at least one.

SUBS: ALAN BROWNE 6/10:

Came on to give us a bit of beef and experience in midfield, but he's not necessarily the kind of player who you want to see come on when chasing the game.

WILSON ISIDOR 6/10:

Plenty of energy off the bench, and had a couple of half-chances including a header which bobbled wide.
