The gaffer has been talking about our injuries again pre-Watford with some positive news. Alan Browne and Ian Poveda should both be available for selection, whilst Salis Abdul Samed is still being eased into things so no risks will be taken.
BROWNE AND POVEDA BACK
"Both Alan (Browne) and Ian (Poveda) are close to being ready. With Browney, it will depend how he is feeling but he could be available for Watford. Ian should be available for Watford. Ian had a long period without a team and this can impact you, you can lose a week or two when you feel discomfort. He is in this period at the moment, he needs one or two weeks and maybe one or two good performances on the pitch just to create that feeling of confidence. I am confident in him.”
SALIS ABDUL SAMED FEELING GOOD
"I don't know exactly when Salis will be available to play. He is feeling good but with the kind of injury he is coming back from, if he reaches a certain level of intensity [too soon] then it could provoke another injury. At the moment we don't know exactly when he will be fit, but I think it will probably be after the international break."
AARON CONNOLLY
"It's difficult to say exactly when he will play. He's in good condition, which was very important to us before we signed him. It showed us that during his time out of the game he took very good care of his condition, and he had the possibility to think about his previous experiences and change something. This is the case because his condition is very good. But he has not trained with a team for three months and 11-v-11 is a very specific situation, very different to a 5-v-5 and the other fitness work. I'm confident [it won't be long], maybe after the next international break he could be available.”
AFTER THE INTERNATIONAL BREAK
"I think he has quite a complete profile. He's a good finisher, he can run in behind and he can play short passes and join in the combination play. He can defend with the team, too. I think he has a well-rounded profile. His profile with his experiences is very interesting, too. I don't think it is good for everyone to have the same experiences, and he is very different from the others. I think that he will help the others to learn."
