Regis Le Bris has given the latest update on the progress of Anthony Patterson, Dan Ballard and Eliezer Mayenda ahead of Saturday's game.
PATTO
“We have to wait. It is not too serious but it depends on the pain he feels and the discomfort he can have on the pitch. At the minute he can’t train, but it could be five days or one week maximum I think. It is an unusual injury so it depends on how he is feeling. He wasn’t able to train this morning for example or this week, but maybe next week it will be possible.”
MAYENDA/BALLARD
“For Eliezer he is okay, he is ready to play. Ballard will train tomorrow and he is very close to the group now.”
MAYENDA VS ISIDOR
“We spoke yesterday. Eliezer did very well during the first part of the season and was very important for us, but now there is Wilson and now Aaron. We trust Eliezer and we think he is a very good player so it is a good problem for me and the team to have that good level of competition.”
HEALTHY COMPETITION
“For everyone you can feel that if you are not involved 100% every day you have someone behind you ready to play. It is good for the team and good for them as well because from a human perspective, you always need that competition. We have to find the right level because if it is too much then some of the players won’t be involved and we will lose them. But at the minute that is not the case, I think they are doing well, we can feel it in the training sessions. It’s at the right level of frustration when you don’t play and you know it is possible but it’s just not the right moment, and the player on the pitch knows he needs to be at his best level. So for the team it is good.”
