RLB: LESSONS LEARNT

Regis Le Bris has given his thoughts on Monday's crushing defeat at Elland Road and says the team will use this disappointing experience to their advantage in the remaining 13 games.

STILL IN A GOOD PLACE

“It's still the same focus for us. A defeat here won't change our way of thinking. We are still in a good place, and I think this team is improving game after game, even after a tough game like this one. The next layer for us is just winning at home in our next game. After that, we will see."

MUNDLE WASN'T READY

“I think it shows that we need a little bit more depth in our squad. I think this will be the case in the next few weeks because we will have two, three, four players who were injured. When they are fit again, they are going to be very useful for the team. I think this will make a difference. Romaine is one example, because he has not played for a long time.”

HIGH QUALITY OPPOSITION

“It was a tough second half, but we need to admit that Leeds were very good. Sometimes, when you play against such a strong team, sometimes you can't find the solution."

GET THE DETAILS RIGHT

“We can always find the elements in the game that we can improve. For example, our restarts in the second half from goal kicks. We couldn't keep the ball, so we just kept kicking away the ball and then they come back quickly to our box. This is an example of the details we can look at and improve. You can learn from these experiences - I think Leeds have more experience than us and I think you could feel this in the second half and at the end of the game. We have to learn from this bad feeling and after we have analysed the game deeply, we can find the elements to improve.”

DESERVED THE LEAD

“I thought our first half was good. We played good football both in and out of possession. I think it was fair for us to score the goal and to be leading at half-time. But I thought the second half was more difficult because they built strong momentum and we didn't find the solution to break their dynamic."

CROWD PRESSURE

“With the crowd, the energy of the stadium - it was always increasing and even with our subs we didn't find the solution to change this energy. They were very strong in the second half. We expected that they would give more, take more risks and this was the right idea for them."

PROUD OF THE LADS

“For us, I think we can be proud of our way of playing in the first half especially. Even in the second half, we played as a team and we were brave. But without the small details which can change the dynamic of the game. For me, we played a good first half and we played a strong team. We have to admit that we can be overwhelmed at times by their strength. They were very good. We have a young team and they are learning from all these different experiences, I am sure that in the future this will be a positive for them. They are disappointed, of course. They want to win and to be promoted, to be in a good dynamic.”
