The gaffer has gone into more detail about the victory over Stoke City over the weekend and says that the team are aware of what needs to be improved upon going forward to guarantee more consistent wins.
CHANCE CREATION VERSUS STOKE
"I think the performance of the team was good because it doesn't only depend on the final turn, you have to be consistent in many phases especially in that type of dynamic. It's still difficult to break because in our mind when you dominate the game and you don't win, it's still difficult because maybe you can become a little bit tense. The doubt can be introduced to your mind. We were consistent, so I'm very happy because in that period we drew five times, we lost a game at Sheffield. It wasn't deserved I think and we created many chances the last four games and we didn't score a lot. We kept the consistency and I think it's a good sign because especially with a young team when you are not rewarded you can give up a little bit, it wasn't the case. At the end, we scored, we won and it's good news for us, for the team, for the fans and for the club. That mindset is good for the foundation because it wasn't easy in that period and we were consistent under difficult circumstances, so it's good news."
RESULT IMPORTANT
"It's important [to get results] because when you work a lot and you make such an effort to win, it's good to be rewarded I think. At the same time, we know exactly what we have to improve to create more chances and to avoid chances against us. It could have been worse because just before half time they had a big chance and Patterson made a big save. Football is still unpredictable, sometimes you have one average chance and you can score and sometimes you can create plenty of chances and you don't score. Probably we have to be more clinical but it's a question of confidence and I hope it will change quickly."
