LUFC PLAYER RATINGS

Sunderland once again materialised to drop points late on after not showing up at all in the second half. Isidor gave us the lead with a really well worked goal, prior to a Struijk brace which frustratingly gave the home team all three points.

ANTHONY PATTERSON: 5/10

Thought he was doing okay but his distribution became virtually detrimental in the second half and he really should have tried to catch that late cross that cost us the game, or at least get a proper hand on it.

TRAI HUME: 7/10

I thought he was perfectly alright, generally came off the better when he was fighting to win possession from their attack and he contributed when we did manage to get the ball up the pitch.

DAN BALLARD: 6.5/10

He was coping quite well with the Leeds attack throughout most of the game and made a couple of nice bursts forward in the first half. Conceding two goals via crosses doesn’t reflect too well on the centre backs ultimately though and some of his balls towards Poveda at the end were going absolutely nowhere near. He did get an assist with a fantastic ball into Isidor saying that though.

LUKE O’NIEN: 6/10

He wasn’t poor but not an awful lot stood out to me. His long balls were all over the place.

DENNIS CIRKIN: 5.5/10

He didn’t get close enough to the opposition for long periods of the second half and didn’t fare too well going forward.

DAN NEIL: 7/10

Drew lots of fouls and was quite combative for most of the match, definitely ran out of steam towards the conclusion though and was stood still on a couple of occasions.

JOBE BELLINGHAM: 6/10

It just never really came off for him tonight, especially after the break. When he did get the ball he would often not find a pass afterwards and I don’t think he did a lot going forward. Defensively, in terms of preventing them getting too far into our final third, he was pretty decent. Had a decent effort early on.

PATRICK ROBERTS: 6/10

Caused their first goal by giving away a free kick with a needless foul, I feel. Had a few decent moments on the attack.

CHRIS RIGG: 7/10

A decent game for him in my opinion. Got past his man really well a few times and helped out at the back.

ENZO LE FÉE: 6/10

He was given too much to do when he was given the ball, not backed up enough and constantly surrounded. I think Leeds figured out he was one of our key danger men within about 15 minutes of kick off. Played a role in the match winner.

WILSON ISIDOR: 7.5/10

I’m not sure we should have taken him off as there were a couple of instances after he was subbed where I thought he would have been the difference between us getting a proper shot away or not. Scored a fantastic goal, fought for the ball decently but maybe not as viscously as he could have sometimes.

SUBS:

SALIS ABDUL SAMED: 6/10

At least he made an effort going forward and did the basics well enough. He didn’t make too much of an impact however. I have to doubt the timing of bringing in a defensive midfielder when we’d been under the cosh for half an hour, you’re just inviting them to score. That’s not Samed’s fault though.

ELIEZER MAYENDA: 6/10

Had a couple flashes of quality but I don’t think he was the man for the job, should have kept Isidor in the middle and put him out on the right if Le Bris didn’t want to risk Mundle just yet.

IAN POVEDA: N/A

No rating because he was brought on late but he played some decent stuff, didn’t make his presence known enough in my opinion however.
