Regis Le Bris has responded to criticism of Anthony Patterson and also spoke about Luke O'Nien, who is set to make his 300th SAFC appearance tomorrow night.
BACKING PATTO
“He has been really good this season. Really good. When a striker or a goalkeeper makes a mistake like that, the consequences are always different. Anthony has been a very good goalkeeper for the team so far and is still a good goalkeeper. He can make mistakes for sure, but at the same time he has to learn from these experiences and find the best way to finish the season.”
300 FOR LUKE
“Energy, first of all! I think if we have to define Luke, that is a good word. He wants to learn, even after 300 appearances for the club. I think he is a role model and is very important for that. He is always connected with the team. His behaviour is very positive for our young squad and the way he wants to improve every day, the way he wants to be connected with the others, the way he wants to be positive even when sometimes it is tough. He sets a good example.”
AMBITIOUS BUT WELL-BALANCED
“He is connected with the ambition as well but he is not the only one. The squad is still really engaged in the process. We know that the league is always tough, you will have good periods and low periods, and the main point is the consistency. You can’t be too emotional - positive or negative - because life is like that. If you want to play at the best level, you will face many troubles."
NOT PANICKED
"It is not a crisis, it is just two lost games. We have lost only six games this season so it is not massive. When it happens, it feels new! It’s a little bit different but at the same time we know that we have to trust our game model, our squad, the way we are learning, and to find the good energy to finish the season.”
