This was a massive win and a night where Enzo Le Fee proved he has the quality to make the difference in a big match.
We started badly in a red hot atmosphere. In the first 30 minutes we were second best and lucky not be two or three down. Then, prompted by Le Fee’s trickery and composure, we began to take control of the game. It was the Frenchman’s brilliant pass into the box that triggered the mayhem that led to Dan Neil’s goal that took us into half time on a high.
In the second half it was all Sunderland as we dominated the ball. Enzo was once again at the centre of things after putting Wilson Isidor through for a wonderfully taken goal to put us ahead. Chris Rigg (fairly poor on the night) then missed a golden opportunity to kill the game. It looked like our profligacy had once again cost us when Boro equalised with their only attack of the half.
However, Le Fee provided the coup de grace after showing a brilliant first touch and pace before putting a magnificent cross over which Ryan Giles put into his own goal.
It was no more than we deserved after a totally dominate second half performance. On the night of deadline day, it was two signings we have already made in Le Fee and Isidor who showed we already have the quality to be real promotion contenders.
